Walker, Texas Ranger
Leslie Greif and Paul Haggis created Walker, Texas Ranger, an American television action crime drama series starring Chuck Norris as a member of the Texas Ranger Division. The show premiered on CBS in the spring of 1993, with three pilot episodes in the first season. There were eight full seasons after that, with new episodes running from September 25, 1993 to May 19, 2001, and reruns on CBS until July 28, 2001. It has now inspired a made-for-television film, Trial By Fire, which has been televised in over 100 countries. The film ended on a cliffhanger, which has yet to be addressed as of 2013. All of the seasons have been available on DVD. Reruns of the show have shown in syndication on the USA Network and Action in Canada at various periods since 1997. The series premiered on WGN America on September 13, 2010. The show's moral principles were well-known. The characters, for example, abstained from using narcotics and participated in community service. Martial arts were clearly shown as police enforcement's primary instrument and, on occasion, as a means for Walker and company to reach out to the community. The show has since gone on to become one of the most popular action shows in television history, and its kitsch appeal has earned it a cult following.
