The Upside Down Show
The Upside Down Show, which starred Shane Dundas and David Collins, was a Logie Award-winning show that aired on Noggin, Nick Jr. Australia, and ABC Australia. They play brothers who live in a strange house with a variety of unusual rooms in the show. The show debuted on Nick Jr. Australia in August 2006 and Noggin US on October 16, 2006, with 13 episodes created by the highly regarded Sesame Workshop. Only Noggin can be seen with the Sesame Workshop logo. The Upside Down Show's initial reception was underwhelming, failing to match the popularity of Play With Me Sesame and Caillou during the 2006-2007 season. The show's premiere was panned for being too similar to Ernie and Bert. Shane Dundas expressed reservations about the show returning for a second season in a New York Post interview on December 27, 2006. The Umbilical Brothers announced on their website on June 1, 2007, that despite the success of The Upside Down Show, Nickelodeon/Noggin USA were not interested in a third season. The show received a Parents' Choice Award Silver Honor for Television and a Creative Craft Daytime Emmy Award for Main Title Design in 2007.
