The Untouchables
ABC aired The Untouchables, a crime series that lasted from 1959 until 1963. As a Prohibition agent combating crime in Chicago in the 1930s with the support of a special team of agents chosen for their daring and incorruptibility, called the Untouchables, the film was based on Eliot Ness and Oscar Fraley's biography of the same name. Filmed in 1987 by Brian De Palma and adapted by David Mamet for television in1993, the book was later transformed into both a film and a television series. The Untouchables, a strong, hard-hitting crime drama, won Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series for Robert Stack in 1960.
