Samurai Deeper Kyo
Akimine Kamijyo is the author and illustrator of the manga series Samurai Deeper Kyo. Samurai Deeper Kyo is a Japanese story that takes place during the Edo period. It is about a feared samurai named Demon Eyes Kyo who wants to get back his body after his soul is sealed inside the body of his rival, Mibu Kyoshiro. Kyo is helped in his search by the bounty hunter Shiina Yuya, who is the heir to the Tokugawa shogunate Benitora, and Sanada Yukimura, who is known to be a rival of the Tokugawa. Samurai Deeper Kyo was published in Kodansha's Weekly Shnen Magazine from October 15, 1999 to May 10, 2006, and collected in 38 volumes. It was in 2002 when the manga was turned into an animated series for television. For a total of 26 episodes, the Studio Deen production ran on TV Tokyo from July 2, 2002, to December 23, 2002. In the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, both the manga and anime have been licensed. Tokyopop purchased the comic in 2002. Tokyopop was unable to continue the English-language edition of the series after Kodansha allowed its license terms to expire in 2009. Del Rey Manga picked up Samurai Deeper Kyo soon after, and the series has now been concluded with the release of a single volume containing volumes 35 and 36, as well as a single volume containing volumes 37 and 38. In 2003, Media Blasters purchased the anime series through its AnimeWorks label. aired on Encore network channels in the United States for a little time.
