Samurai 7
Samurai 7 is a 2004 anime television series directed by Gonzo and based on Akira Kurosawa's 1954 film Seven Samurai. Toshifumi Takizawa directed the series, and Kaoru Wada and Eitetsu Hayashi created the music. There are 26 episodes, each of which cost about 32,500,000 to make. The series premiered as an exclusive high definition CS-PPV broadcast across Japan on the anime satellite television network Animax, and was then carried by the network across its other networks globally, including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America, and other territories. The dubbing rights for the North American release were secured by Funimation Entertainment. It first aired in April 2006 on the Independent Film Channel and in high definition on Dish Network's Animania HD channel in the United States. It was also broadcast on the specialized channel Razer in Canada and TVB Jade in Hong Kong. The series premiered on the Funimation Channel on September6, 2010. On August19,2012, it premiered on Adult Swim's relaunched Toonami block and ran until February10, 2013.
