Love & War
Love & War is an American television sitcom, which aired on CBS in September 21, 1992 to February 1, 1995.
Created by Diane English, the show initially starred Susan Dey as a Chicago restaurateur, Wally Porter, and Jay Thomas as Jack Stein, a sportswriter with whom she had an on-again, off-again romance.
After the initial season, but the show was retooled and Dey was fired by the producers of this show, claiming that she and Thomas had"no chemistry" together. Annie Potts substituted her as Dana Palladino, that also became a love interest for Jack and bought Porter's restaurant.
The season also featured seconds when Wally or even Jack would break the fourth wall and then address the camera directly with it as an opportunity to discuss an emotional tragedy. This mechanic was dropped in later phases.
1 event featured a guest appearance in Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David as themselves, they did this as a"thanks" to founder Diane English for allowing a quick scene on Murphy Brown in an episode of Seinfeld where Kramer is cast as the titular character's secretary.
The show's supporting cast comprised Michael Nouri, Joanna Gleason, Joel Murray, Charles Robinson and Suzie Plakson. John Hancock, who had a recurring role as a judge L.A. Law using Susan Dey before, portrayed bartender Ike for its first half of season one, before he died of a heart attack from late 1992. His death has been written into the show and celebrity Charlie Robinson substituted him.
