From the very first aired episode, unintended presence and Smith's endanger caused them to move off path so that the meteors were encountered by them. Unknown light years from Earth, at this a comparatively slow speed that they believed whether they were on Mars, whilst in the aired episode, just seconds of hyper-drive and so they were lost they went in the version.
