Lights Out
Lights Outside was a highly popular American classic radio plan, an instance of a system chain devoted to terror and the supernatural, predating Inner Sanctum and Suspense. Versions of Lights Out aired at times, on various networks, from January 1934 and the show eventually made the transition.
NBC Television brought Lights outside to TV at a collection of 4 specials, broadcast and produced. NBC asked Cooper to publish the script for the premiere,"First Person Singular", that can be told entirely from the perspective of an hidden murderer who kills his obnoxious wife and winds up being executed. Variety gave this very first installment a rave review ("definitely among the very most breathtaking shows nonetheless seen on a television series"), however, Lights outdid become a routine NBC-TV series before 1949.
