Lassie
Lassie is a American television show that follows the adventures of a Rough Collie dog named Lassie and her companions, human and animal. The show was the creation of producer Robert Maxwell and creature trainer Rudd Weatherwax and has been televised from September 12, 1954, to March 24, 1973. Before inputting first-run syndication one of those show on television chalked up 1 seasons on CBS. Initially filmed in monochrome, the show transitioned to color in 1965.
The series's first ten seasons follow Lassie's adventures in a small farming area. Jeff Miller, his mother, and his grandfather would be Lassie's first human companions before seven-year-old Timmy Martin and his parents simply take over in the season. When Lassie's pops on the farm ending from the season, fresh adventures are found by her in the wilderness with a succession of United States Forest Service Rangers. Lassie finally settles at a children's home for the final two seasons that are thirds, after travel without leads for per year.
Lassie won two Emmy Awards in its first decades and received critical favor. June Lockhart and stars Jan Clayton were nominated for Emmys. Product produced through the show's run included books, clothing a Halloween costume, toys, as well as other items. Campbell's Soup, the lifelong sponsor of the show, offered two premiums, and spread tens of thousands to fans. A episode has been edited in to the feature film Lassie's Great Adventure and released in August 1963. Back in 1989, the television show The New Lassie attracted Lassie star Jon Provost back again to television as Steve McCullough. Episodes have been released to DVD.
