Takumi Fujiwara could be the son of who owns a tofu shop. At nighttime, Fujiwara gets in his souped-up AE86 Sprinter Trueno (AE86 Corolla GT-APEX) and races on the seldom-used Japanese mountain roads. One night, a club, the Akagi Red Suns team, challenges the Akina Speed Stars at which Fujiwara lives. Keisuke, one of those leaders of the Red Suns, races his most Mazda rx 7 that is mythical - to be conquered by the Fujiwara that is mysterious.
