Daniel Deronda
Daniel Deronda is a British television series based on George Eliot's novel of the same name, adapted by Andrew Davies. The three-part series, directed by Tom Hooper and produced by Louis Marks, aired on BBC One from November 23 to December 7 of 2002 in three parts. With Hugh Bonneville as Henleigh Grandcourt as his sidekick and Jodhi May as Gwendolen Harleth as his love interest, this was one of the most memorable television series of all time. WGBH Boston provided financial support for the co-production of this film. An adaptation of the novel by Louis Marks was originally planned, but the project was abandoned following a lengthy and unsuccessful casting procedure. A further five years elapsed before the drama was broadcast on television. From May through August, filming took place in England, Scotland, and Malta. Before he passed away in2010, Marks produced one final show for television, this one.
