Cheers is a American sitcom television show that ran for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993. It made by the team of James Burrows, Glen Charles, and Les Charles and had been produced by Charles/Burrows/Charles Productions in association with Paramount Network Television for NBC. The show is set in a pub by which a group of locals meet to unwind, drink, and socialize, named Cheers in Boston, Massachusetts. The show's theme song, written and performed by Gary Portnoy, also co-written using Judy Hart Angelo, given its famous refrain,"Where Everyone Knows Your Name", since the show's tag line. After premiering on September 30, 1982, it had been canceled during its first season when it ranked last in evaluations for its premiere. Cheers finally became a television show that was highly rated in the USA, earning a rating during 8 of its 11 seasons, including 1 season at no 1. The show spent most of its run on NBC's Thursday night"Must See TV" lineup. Its show finale was broadcast on May 20, 1993, and the series's 275 episodes have been syndicated global. Nominated on the atmosphere, it has earned 28 Emmy awards out of a then-record 117 nominations. The personality Frasier Crane was included within his eponymous spin-off show, which afterwards beamed until 2004 and included guest appearances.
