Aftershock: Earthquake in New York is a four-hour disaster miniseries that aired on CBS in the United States in two parts in1999, the first on November 14 and the second on November 16. It was released on VHS in 2000 and on DVD in 2001. It is based on Chuck Scarborough's book. Charles S. Dutton, Sharon Lawrence, Tom Skerritt, Lisa Nicole Carson, Jennifer Garner, Rachel Ticotin, and Frederick Weller star. The miniseries, directed by Mikael Salomon, follows five groups of people in the aftermath of a major earthquake in New York City. For its special effects, it received an Emmy nomination. While critics applauded the amazing effects and performances, they criticised the picture for its unrealistic plot, predictability, and lack of reality.
