The Story of Adele H.

Adèle Hugo, daughter of French writer Victor Hugo, falls deeply in love with British soldier Albert Pinson while living off the coast of England in exile. He follows him and assumes Adèle Lewly's alias though he spurns her affections. Albert proceeds to reject her, however, she remains obsessive in her quest to win over him. Again paths him furthering her downward spiral, After Albert is stationed in the West Indies.
