The House on Carroll Street
Following her dismissal from her employment in 1951 due to her refusal to cooperate with the House Un-American Activities Committee, Emily Crane finds work as a part-time caregiver for an elderly woman. One day she hears a loud altercation taking place in her neighbor's house, and she pays close listen because one of the people engaged is her major senate prosecutor. With her own investigation underway, she eventually enlists the aid of FBI agent Cochran, who was originally assigned to follow her about and make sure she was all right. When things get nasty, it's just as well
