The Doctor's Horrible Experiment

In a Paris suburb, Dr. Cordelier withdraws from society to study brain function. His lifelong friend, Maître Joly, is troubled when Cordelier leaves his entire estate to a stranger, Monsieur Opale. He can't understand why Cordelier defends Opale, who attacks women and children. After a coworker is killed, Joly confronts Cordelier and learns the truth.
