Mr. Jones
To Kharkov from the Ukraine, Welsh journalist Gareth Jones takes a train from Moscow Back in March 1933. He disembarks and sets off on a travel throughout the country by which he experiences the horrors of a famine. There are people that are dead, and every where he goes he meets henchmen of the secret service who are determined to prevent news regarding the tragedy. Stalin's forced collectivisation of agriculture has caused distress and ruin. The coverage is due to mass murder. Produced by Ada Brooks Jones succeeds in dispersing the shocking news from the West, thereby putting his powerful rival, the Pulitzer pro-Stalin journalist Walter Duranty, ardently in his own place.
