It Is No Dream: The Life Of Theodor Herzl
It Is No Dream: The Life of Theodor Herzl, Moriah Films' most recent production, explores the life and times of Theodor Herzl, the father of the modern state of Israel. The film, narrated by Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley and starring Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz as Theodor Herzl, examines how Herzl, a well-known journalist and playwright, an assimilated, Budapest-born Jew, was horrified by the Dreyfus trial in Paris and the anti-Semitism he saw spreading across Europe, took it upon himself to try to create a Jewish homeland in Palestine against all odds. Over the course of eight years, Herzl created and led a global political movement that resulted in the formation of the state of Israel 50 years later. In his effort to construct a Jewish nation, Herzl meets with Kings, Prime Leaders, Ambassadors, a Sultan, a Pope, and government ministers from Constantinople to St. Petersburg, Paris to Berlin, Vienna to Vilna.
