Harvest
In the 30s, a little village in the Provence is losing its inhabitants because youngsters like to go to the city to discover simple work and run away from being farmers staying in loved one hardship. Only a few old individuals and the poacher Panturle remain. Panturle imagine bringing the town back to life, finding a wife, starting a family and job as a farmer. One day, the village is checked out by a traveling knife-grinder, Urbain Gedemus and a girl, Arsule. Gedemus deals with Arsule like a servant, however Arsule accept this because she has no place to go as well as -we think- her 'work' with Gedemus is the last thing that saves her from being a prostitute. When she meets Panturle and learns about his desires, she runs away from Gedemus and decides to remain with him. Together, they start a brand-new life, constructed from difficult farming work yet primarily of joy to have each other - fulfilling the earlier desire for Panturle. Can anything damage the joy of their new life?
