Beyond the Wasteland

Beyond the Wasteland is a documentary that was shot all over the world, including in Australia, the United States of America, Italy, France, Germany, and Japan. It follows fans of the film Mad Max who go to unusual lengths in the name of the film. As these weird fans try to find their place in the Mad Max community, the world of Mad Max comes to life for us as we investigate the bizarre world of the fans, their costumes, and the machines they create. In addition, the documentary follows original cast member Bertrand Cadart as he fights his battle against stage IV leukemia and makes his final journey from his home on the Sunshine Coast to the "Wasteland," the desert location of Mad Max 2 in Silverton.
