The Landlord
Elgar Enders, at the age of twenty-nine, "runs away" from home. This means purchasing a building in a black ghetto in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. Initially, he intends to expel the black inhabitants and transform the property into a luxurious apartment complex. Elgar, however, is not one to be confined by yesterday's desires, and he soon has other ideas in mind.
